As I mentioned, our family got a little big bigger (Ha! When I typed the word “bigger” it came out of my fingers as “better” and I would have to say that works well too) with the addition of our sweet rescue dog, Haley. And so it would be negligent of me not to write my next newspaper article about animals, specifically pets of my childhood and the ones that will be a big part of Cody and Carter’s childhood. So I did.
Without further ado here is my latest article that ran in The News Tribune yesterday. I hope you enjoy it.
Please remember that I want to keep my blog and identity hush-hush. I love comments, Facebook recommendations, and tweets on the newspaper’s website (Love them! – thank you to those of you that did so on my other articles!) but try and refrain from calling me Shoes or mentioning ShoesOnTheWrongFeet. Thanks!
Welcome to Haley. Thank you for the beautiful comment you left on my blog, it made me cry. I’m glad you are ready to have a dog in your life again and I’m glad you chose a rescue pup. She will bring you immense joy.
My browser wouldn’t let me comment on the site, so I’ll look into that — but for now, I wanted to say that this line was beautiful, “I would even suspect that, one day, the boys might not remember a time before Haley.” Spoken like a true mother in love with all the living things in her house!
Haley is beautiful! So glad she found a forever home with you!
Thank you! She is such a wonderful, gentle, loving girl – we are lucky to have her as part of our family.
