I grew up on an island in Washington state, my hometown surrounded first by farmland and next by the sea.
I have moved, two times now, to Phoenix, Arizona a city surrounded first by sunshine and next by the desert.
Two places, so very different, that hold a special place in my heart.

Washington is on my bucket list…. and we did Sedona last year which was amazing.
I know I couldn’t take year round Phoenix heat, we went in January which was perfect…. but I agree. You definitely have lived in two extremely different locales.
It is nice to be able to live in Phoenix and visit Washington in the summer (during non-COVID times). We have about a month left of heat and then it will be amazing weather up until mid April when it starts to get hot again.
We loved Sedona. If we were wealthy I’d have a winter place there…
That is a pretty big change. I think I’d prefer the former. Heatwave in So Cal, and I can’t imagine how you handle this nearly full-time!
June, July, and August are rough, especially this year as we are breaking heat records all over the place. In another month, it will be perfect weather up until about mid April. It is a nice time to have a pool and a trampoline with a sprinkler attached to it! 🙂
How cold does it get there?
they both look incredible!
How lucky to experience two very different environments!
