Okay, I am feeling a bit guilty. Almost three weeks ago I was given the Kreativ Blogger Award from one of my long time (long time is a relative term since I have only been blogging for 6 months) blog readers Jodi over at jodistone a wonderful blog about life with her two, heavy on the personality, dogs Sampson and Delilah. She notified me of the award on December 12th, two days after my dad ended up in the hospital due to a pretty bad episode caused by his Alzheimer’s. There were complications and it was beyond awful. After 19 days in 2 different hospitals he is finally back in his hometown at a long term Alzheimer’s and Dementia care facility about thirty minutes away from my mom. We have lost more of him but he is still in there.
Anyway, what I am trying to say is that I am very grateful for all of you out there and your support and comments and (wow!) the awards even though it has taken me a while to respond. I really need to get off my keister and write a post about this award so here it is. You see, I just found out today, much to my surprise, that Mona Lisa over at mona lisa memoris, has also honored me with the Kreativ Blogger Award. So a very big thank you to Jodi and Mona Lisa. It means a great deal to me for my blog to be recognized and awarded.
As with most of these blogging awards, there are some fun rules that come with it. It appears that this one asks that you to share ten things about yourself or your blog that others may not know and to pass along the award to six other blogs.
So here are ten things about me:
- My favorite color is orange.
- I got my bellybutton pierced when I was 19 or 20 but took out the ring when I became pregnant at age 31 . I haven’t gotten around to putting it back in but I will someday.
- I do not like bananas unless there is chocolate or ice cream involved.
- I am jealous of blogs that have a consistent topic or purpose. Mine sometimes seems a bit scattered and bipolar but I just can’t stick to singular topic for long.
- If I was locked in a room with a Costco chocolate cake and no one was around there is a serious possibility that I would attempt to eat the entire cake. It is just that good. Or I am just that bad.
- I sometimes think we need a third child.
- I am completely unable to focus on anything when I have a broken or jagged fingernail.
- I quite often go several days without drinking water. I just don’t like the stuff.
- I have worn the same ring on my right thumb everyday for over fifteen years.
- I prefer a good microbrew over wine.
And here are six blogs (in no particular order) I would like to share a bit of blogging award love with:
- Illusion of Sanity
- The Restless Nest
- Mommy Said A Swear Word
- Healthy Working Mom
- Life Takes Over
- Veggie Sandwich Generation
I hope you get a chance to check out these blogs. They each have their own something special that keep me coming back for more. As to Jodi and Mona Lisa, thank you again!
Well done! And commiserations about your father.
Thank you.
Congratulations on your DOUBLE award!
I also become troubled by a broken or jagged nail and fixate on it until I can fix it! LOL How weird is that.
And as for your blog topic, I think it is just fine. That is the beauty of blogging, you can blog about one subject or many, it just doesn’t matter.
I look at it like a diary or journal, you wouldn’t normally stay focused on one theme there would you? Besides the title of the blog gives you freedom!
I look forward to your blog because I never know what to expect! Keep up the great work and again, congratulations!
Thank you. It is very cool, and I still find it amazing, that people out there are reading my blog and are finding it entertaining. I am enjoying blogging way more then I ever thought I would even though I have little freak outs on a weekly basis over what to write about. And you are right about it being like a journal; the main thread being family and day to day experiences.
Oh, and you think I would learn and carry around a nail trimmer or at least a nail file with me, but do I? No! 🙂
Congratulations on your awards! Orange is one of my favourite colours, too! TOTALLY underrated!!
All the very best to you and your family for the New Year.
Thanks! I love orange especially shirts, sweaters, socks (see a theme here?) and kitchen gadgets.
Happy New Year to you and yours as well.
Hehe, I have an orange jumper that I had when I was in school. I still have it now. It’s still in really good condition! It has even attained celebrity status with some of my friends who remember it from back then! 😀
That is fantastic! Now I kinda wish I had an orange jumper. 🙂
Haha! I have several different items of orange clothing and some hairbands. I’m going to have to think of a list now! 😀

Just stopping by to thank you for visiting Chancy’s blog and commenting. Your little ones are sure cute. I read some of your posts (giggled some as I read) you have a way with words an interesting blog. Hope you have a wonderful year in 2012. Congratulations on the award.
Thank you for your kind words. I am glad I was able to give you a giggle or two with my writing. I enjoyed your happy ending story about Bear.
May you and yours have a great new year!
Wow! Two awards after 6 months? That’s pretty awesome! Sorry to hear about your father. The progression of loss that comes with Alzheimer’s is really, really hard.
And there is no amount of ice cream that would make banana’s palatable to me. Blech!
It is pretty awesome! I am very lucky to have readers that have the same sense of humor as I, get and give awards, and do not mind my gross overuse of the comma (I secretly prefer the semicolon to the comma but have a harder time justifying its use.)
The situation with my dad is sad and awful. It has come down to acceptance for me and keeping ahold of all the good memories.
Oh, and the ice cream covered banana would have to have a copious amount of chocolate sauce to make it worth my time and tastebuds. Thanks for stopping by and leaving me a comment! I found your blog not too long ago and greatly enjoy it.
Congratulations on your award!
On another note: Just wanted to let you know I added you to my blogroll.
Wow, thank you much for adding me to your blogroll!
