As like most things, shopping looks a lot different in this time of COVID-19.
Husband is the main grocery store shopper. He goes out as infrequently as possible, using curbside pick-up whenever possible. The list of places we shop has shrunk to mostly Costco and Fry’s.
Because of this, we have not had the unique items one can only find at Trader Joe’s. Last week, Husband braved a trip to TJ’s and the excitement was palpable.
A feeling like Christmas morning was in the air as Husband walked through the door carrying sacks of groceries.
Items were pulled from their crisp, brown, paper bags and inspected with interest and glee.
Ok, well, not all items were met with glee by all people.
Even our dog, Haley, did not want to miss out on the excitement, choosing to settle down with a nice six pack of stout.
Colorful Carrot Coins, Frozen Roasted Corn, Tomato & Roasted Pepper Red Soup, Masala Simmer Sauce, Asparagus Risotto, and All Butter Shortbread Cookies with Chocolate Filling (among so many other glorious items to numerous to list here), welcome home!
love the photos; also love TJ’s; couldn’t survive without them, and they are so kind and organized.
I appreciate their helpful and kind customer service as well. TJ’s tends to be a place where we go to impulse buy our favorites. It can be dangerous to shop in such a way, especially when our list of TJ’s favorites keeps growing. 🙂
Wow, you cleaned up. Well done! I’m looking forward to Christmastime at TJ’s because that’s when they have the Boozy Little Chocolate Truffles!
We have so many TJ’s favorites that it was really an exciting moment unpacking those grocery bags! Ah, Christmastime at TJ’s… I have not tried these Boozy Little Chocolate Truffles of which you speak, but will have to give them a go this Christmas. I look forward to the chocolate dipped shortbread stars with the little round sprinkles on them during Christmas time. You pretty much can’t go wrong with anything chocolate from there.
Agreed about the star cookies. I tried their “drinking chocolate,” I believe it was called, and that did go wrong. I figured it was hot chocolate, right? It’s more like baking chocolate. Not sweet at all.
Ugh! Reminds me of the time when I was maybe 6 or 7 and I snuck a piece of chocolate from my mom’s baking chocolate she kept in the pantry. Horrible stuff for eating, and apparently drinking, as well. I will be sure to steer clear of their drinking chocolate.
Oh man, it’s like you got your own punishment there!
It looks like a case of me getting my “just desserts” for sure! LOL!
😛
Life is good! Except for that one unappreciated item…
😉
Yeah, Carter is not a fan of the vegetable fried rice.
