Under a bush, an imprint in the rocks lined with little bits and bobbles discarded by nature, new life emerges.
Feather fluff of quail and empty shells remains.

one thing that I really love about your blog//you is that you observe what is going on aroud you: too often I go out and I am so absorbed in my thoughts/petty issues that I dont properly look what surrounds me!
Ahh, thank you for this comment. I grew up very connected with nature, both my parents, teachers with a background in the sciences. I try to be observant of the little things both in life in general and specifically in nature. I found this nest while doing yard work last week, pleased to see the hatched quail shells and eager to share it with Husband and our boys.
this is so cool! I grew up in the city, so unfortunately didnt have the chance to admire nature and all her beauty! trying to make up the time now that I am in a “greener” area – hopefully I will learn how to stay connected with mother nature
The fact that you want to and are aware that nature has so much to offer to those who really look, tells me that you will stay connected to her.
Awwhh…
Quail make my heart happy so I was really pleased to see that a pair of quail made their home under a bush in our front yard.
Awh, sweet.
(Not that you want to hear this, necessarily, but quail taste good too! Heehee. 🙂 )
Nope, didn’t want to hear that! When I searched for images of quail eggs, to verify my identification before writing about them, there were a lot of images of soft boiled quail eggs.
Oooh, that had to hurt. 😦
It was a bit uncomfortable for me. I just wanted to identify the egg shells, not see them on someone’s plate. 🙂
