Post Surgery Report – The Shrimp Lives to See Another Day

Just a short post to let all two of you know (my estimation of two being fairly generous, I dare say) that Kissy Shrimp has made it through his grueling twenty-minute surgery and is currently resting.

Here is Kissy Shrimp, wacked out on pain meds, but resting well post op with our sweet dog, Rosy.

There were a few complications that may result in permanent scarring, but shrimp being a rather dirty lot, don’t bother themselves much with vanity, so I don’t see a lawsuit being filed anytime soon.  Plus we did cover all his medical bills and we keep a roof over his head.

Warning for those of you who are faint of heart I suggest you stop reading.  Below is a before and after shot of Kissy Shrimp’s gaping wound.  Neither one is pretty.

Kissy Shrimp on sterile operating blanket pre surgery.

Once I had closed up the majority of the large wound, I noted a smaller one at his anterior.  I continued the original suture line up to incorporate both areas of concern.

All closed up. Not bad handy work for one who does not sew.

Thank you to everyone who sent cards, flowers, and kind words.  I will make sure Kissy Shrimp sends you each a claw written note in the mail.
