The last couple days have been ones filled with sunshine, albeit bookended with gray clouds and rain. We got out and made the most of them.
The boys put on rain boots and floated little scraps of orange painted wood little boats in the grassy ditch in our neighborhood.
We spent a lot of time just hanging out in the woods on our property. We were on the lookout for cougars (of both varieties) due to the recent cougar sighting at Carter’s school but we only saw one rather fierce looking panther.
After spending forever in the woods, with the boys showing no sign of interest waning, I got bored and started taking pictures, some of which I will now subject you to.
Hope you all are having a lovely weekend!
i like the panther! 🙂 the black cat ooks just like it. great shot.
Thanks! 🙂
I love these photos! Great picture of the tiny plants and fungi during your outing. Your boys are beautiful, too.
Hehehe – you would not have hurt my feelings if you had just commented on the pretty plants; I especially like how the moss with salal turned out.
My boys, while usually beautiful, are somewhat lacking is style and class when boot deep in muddy water. 🙂
Nice pictures!! Why can’t mine come out that good?
The one of the cat I did some funky things to with Picnic but the other ones are not touched up at all. I just have a simple point and shoot camera but for ever one good picture I take there are at least 10-15 that are awful. 🙂 Sheer numbers, my friend, sheer numbers!
Great photos!
Thanks. I tend to fixate on closeups of things in nature; they really fascinate me. And, of course, I take hundreds of pictures of my boys.
The boots from your header are probably long outgrown… I love that you let them explore and risk wet disasters. So fun…
Actually when I started this blog the duck boots were just a little too big for Carter and Cody had almost outgrown the firefighter boots. The firefighter boots went to Goodwill after Cody outgrew them because Carter has wide feet and could not fit into them. Just a week or two ago the duck boots got a hole and had to be designated as “non-puddle stomping” boots. Cody now had taller black boots (much more big boy looking than I would like to admit) and Carter has green frog boots. 🙂
They love getting dirty and wet. I don’t mind it as long as it is after school and we have no plans other than giving them a bath!
