We got back from our week long trip to Tucson last night. It was a wonderful time filled with desert walks, Mexican beer, family, and sun. Today was spend unpacking, doing laundry, shuttling Cody to physical therapy, grocery shopping, picking up last minute things for Cody’s birthday party tomorrow, and cleaning from our house a weeks worth of dog hair and dust. After a week of sunshine and desert sand we are back in the rain and gray of the Pacific Northwest. I must say my soul truly misses the sun.
I had planned a nice blog post with collages and framed pictures but after struggling with several photo editors on line with awful results you and I are left with this. My beloved Picnik is no more. I am quite frustrated by this so please recommend to me what you use and like to quick fix and make pretty your pictures. Bonus points for ease of use and collage and framing abilities.
It is late (yes, I know it is only 9 p.m. on a Friday night, but for me it is late) and I still have several things to do before I can get some sleep but I just wanted to dust off my keyboard and leave you with a new post.
Welcome back – and I’m so happy to see that you’re son did not permanently turn into a turtle..:-) The pictures are great!
LOL! Glad you like the pictures. I was looking for a real desert tortoise in the exhibit area but could not find one. I turned around and saw Cody in the shell – way better than a real tortoise. 🙂
I LOVE the pictures and the one of your son with the turtle shell is a hoot! Have a fun birthday party.
Glad you like the pictures – I had a great time taking them.
It looks like we are going to have sun (or at least no rain) for the party today, yeah!
The palm shot is tremendous, and I love the turtle pic, too! Glad everybody had fun 😀
Thanks! We had a blast.
Wow talk about making me Airzona sick…you know(well now you know) my parents live in Tucson!!!!Looks like you guys had a great time I’m so wanting to go to visit. I love when I do because it’s like my own private resort with pool and hottub right at their house!
You and me both! Every time we go back to the desert for a visit, Husband and I talk about moving back. It is just the HEAT is so HOT for so LONG. I wouldn’t be surprised if we ended up back there some day…
Ohhh, the pool and hot tub sound great – Husband’s mom has only a wading pool for the kiddos (although I am not beneath going in it!) 🙂
What attention to the world around you while enjoying the moment. I love the flower photos.
Thanks – I just can’t get over the beauty of desert flowers. I think it is the brilliance of color in an otherwise stark environment.
I love the pictures. Sorry I can’t help you with the photo editor…..I am behind in technology.
I am really getting into this whole photographing nature! I will keep poking around on the web for photo editors. I have found a couple promising ones in beta but the darn things won’t let me save the pictures once I get them how I want them. Ugh.
Stunning photos. Looks and sounds as if everyone had a great time. 🙂 (Just a shame there’s so many chores to catch up with. )
Thanks – we had a wonderful time! There will always be chores I just need to not let them overwhelm me.
Awesome shots! I love your little turtle guy!
Thanks you! Cody does make a nice turtle. 🙂
After a dreary, rainy day, your Arizona photos brought sunshine and warmth. The desert is so beautiful.
Regarding photo editing, I’ve been using Picasa for several years. Recently, it upgraded to include some filters plus collage feature. I’ve used the filters a little, and the collage once or twice. My favorite part is the facial recognition. Whenever I load new photos, it finds faces and allows them to be filed by person.
It was a little soul crushing to get off the plane to 50 degrees and pouring rain after a week of sunshine.
This post I did use Picasa but was frustrated by the collage feature since it did not allow me to move pictures around or grab them and change their size. Plus I really love adding frames to my pictures and I did not see that Picasa could do this. I am still searching for a good and easy web based editor – Tuxip is alright, iPiccy or Picmonkey would be great if they fixed their glitch and let me save the picture (or I fixed something with my computer!)
